Where nature meets tradition

Casa do Tostão owes its name to the grandfather, affectionately known in the village as “O Tostão”. It is said that, in his youth, he once promised to help a neighbour in exchange for a tostão — a small Portuguese coin of the time. The coin never came, but with his characteristic sense of humour, he asked about it so often that the nickname stuck. And so “Tostão” was born — a name that has crossed generations and remains today as a tribute to his simple, joyful, and generous spirit, and to the genuine story that gave life to this family home, where tradition and hospitality are still part of who we are. Today, we open the doors of Casa do Tostão with the same welcoming spirit as always, so that every guest may feel, just like us, truly at home.
